I’m going to be honest with you: I haven’t been reading much this year. Based on things I’ve been reading on social media, it seems as though I’m not alone in this. The COVID-19 pandemic has made so many of us more anxious than usual, and it can be difficult to shut your brain off and get lost in a book, even though that escape can be exactly what we need right now!
Usually at this halfway point of the year, I’ve read about 24 books. This year? 18. Which might still sound like a lot, but I find myself struggling to get through even 50 pages a day, which isn’t much for me. Some days I can’t bring myself to pick up a book at all.
But in spite of everything, 2020 has been a great year so far for new releases, and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you!
ALL THE STARS AND TEETH by Adalyn Grace
BEYOND THE SHADOWED EARTH by Joanna Ruth Meyer
Both these books are amazing new YA fantasies, and you should check them out! Click on the author’s name to visit their website for more info.
I’m also really excited for these 2020 releases, either upcoming or newly released! I need to catch up on my reading to get to all of these beautiful books!
YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN by Leah Johnson (debut, published 6/2/20)
A SONG BELOW WATER by Bethany C. Morrow (published 6/2/20)
A SONG OF WRAITHS AND RUIN by Roseanne A. Brown (debut, published 6/2/20)
THE COURT OF MIRACLES by Kester Grant (debut, published 6/2/20)
A SKY BEYOND THE STORM by Sabaa Tahir (debut, releasing 12/1/20)
